The first grouping of photographs were cropped from a larger picture taken at Camp Lee, Virginia, in May 1918. The photograph of the entire 313th Machine Gun Battalion appeared in the 80th Division's official publication called The Bayonet. The "yard long" photograph was available for purchase after the war through the 80th Division's Service Magazine.
The next group of photos have been collected from various sources. All of the men shown here served as officers with the 313th Machine Gun Battalion at one time during the First World War.
