At least two companies in the Battalion (shown here) took their group photo in front of the Hotel De La Place Bordeau, located in Saint-Vincent-du-Lorouër, France, before returning to the United States. C Company and Headquarters Company.
In order to see the faces in the yard-long photographs, the pictures have been broken down into segments. In some cases, the names of soldiers who appear in the photograph have been indicated below the image. Also, a couple of postcards are included at the end, allowing us to identify the buildings in the background. The C Company photo reveals the men standing outside the Hotel De La Place Bordeaux with the neighboring Catholic Church, Église Saint Vincent, visible in the photograph. Private Andrew A. Capets told his son Victor, that the photo was taken by arranging the men in a semi-circle, or horseshoe, thus allowing the camera to pan the faces of the entire company.
