Peach Street Club
The 313th Machine Gun Battalion reunions were typically held at the Club located at 1921 Peach Street in Erie, PA. The majority of the photos here came from Fred C. DeVore, a mechanic attached to A company during the Great War.
The building still stands today as the Kings Rook Club in Erie. If you can identify a member in these photos, please share your information for other family members who may be researching this topic.
This 1975 reunion photo (above) appears in my book. My grandfather, Andrew A. Capets, is standing in the back row directly under the number 55. He was only about 5'2" in height. This photo was taken in September 1975. It was the last reunion my grandfather attended. He passed away in May 1976. The photo was in an envelope addressed to my grandfather with a return address for Leroy E. Welk, 9th Street, Erie PA. Mr. Welk was also a member of the 313th MGB, and if you can identify him in this photo, please let me know. Other men in this photo: Luigi Agostini is standing to the right of my grandfather. Clifford MacPherson is front row, third from the left.
As our Nation was preparing for the Second World War, many of the men in the Battalion would have sons register for the draft. These men too were required to register. Here the Battalion gathers for their 1941 reunion held at Sunset Inn, Erie PA.
